I've always had a great time in Tornio. Ever since the beginning
of the eighties, the city has treated me well. The first city
on the way South from Lapland by the river. An interesting situation
on the frontier. In Tornio one finds a fascinating mixture of
Lapland and the sea, of Finland and Sweden.
A city of ideal proportions with a surprisinglyrich history. And
you can have a swim in the river in the center of the city!
Tornio also became my financial savior on the 22nd of March, 1993,
when I won a hundred thousand old Finn-marks with a lottery ticket
bought there. In the middle of a recession.
Tornio Camping has been one of my "bases" for a long
time. Cozy cabins with lots of space around. Budjet prices. The
cabin-prices include a sauna in the evening. There's a beach on
the camping-site.

Olen aina viihtynyt hyvin Torniossa. Kaupunki on tuttu jo 80-kuvun
alusta, ja aina kohdellut minua hyvin. Ensimmäinen kaupunki
Lapista alas jokivartta palatessa. Jännä sijainti rajalle.
Torniossa yhdistyy kiintoisalla tavalla meri ja Lappi, Suomi ja
Ruotsi.
